ROANOKE - On Monday, Delegate Sam Rasoul (D-11) announced that he has received the endorsement of Delegate Dan Helmer (D-40) in his bid for Lieutenant Governor. Del. Helmer's district includes parts of Fairfax County and Prince William County.
"Sam's integrity, bold leadership, and compassion have been rock-solid throughout his years of service to the people of Virginia. He will put in the work every day to deliver for Virginians—and I am proud to support his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor," said Del. Helmer.
"Delegate Helmer has earned the reputation of a progressive leader who always keeps his constituents front of mind," said Rasoul. "He has stood up for the immigrant communities in his district, and fought to expand health care and raise teacher pay. I'm thankful for his support in this campaign.”
Helmer is the seventh member of the General Assembly to endorse Rasoul—state senators John Bell and Ghazala Hashmi, and state delegates Lashrecse Aird, Ibraheem Samirah, Cia Price and Suhas Subramanyam have also endorsed.
To date, Rasoul has received the endorsement of over 100 elected officials and grasstops leaders, including former U.S. Congressman Rick Boucher, fifteen mayors and city and town council members, and seven school board members. His campaign has also been endorsed by:
